Syllabus for 2025 - 2026
Venue: the Newton Bar Lounge at 19:00 hrs. (1-2 Glasgow St, Millport, Isle of Cumbrae, KA28 0DJ. Tel: 01475 530920). Non-members can join at any of the monthly meetings: annual membership £10.
Thursday 23rd October 2025: Registration Night / Taste of Harvest (if possible, bring some of your own produce) - Flower Show trophies can be seen in the display cabinet of the "Goldfish Bowl" in the Garrison House.
Thursday 20th November 2025: Making a Wildlife Pond by John Gill, Millport.
Thursday 18th December 2025: Christmas Party - quiz plus festive food: buffet + a glass of wine (or soft drink) for £5 (subsidised by the club). Secret Santa (optional): bring a gift valued between £5 - £10.
Thursday 15th January 2026: A Taste of Burns - haggis, neeps and tatties (& more) for £10 to celebrate Scotland's Bard!
Thursday 19th February 2026*: February Planting and Preparing the Garden for Spring - a talk by Andrew Harkins, Head Gardener, Mount Stuart, Bute.
Thursday 19th March 2026*: Identifying and Using Plants for Teas and Remedies - a talk given by Denise Harvey, herbalist, Saltcoats + Spring Plant or Bulb Competition.
Thursday 23rd April 2026*: "Ask the Judge" - presented by Kenny Milne, Largs.
Thursday 21st May 2026: AGM + Exchange of Seedlings.
